Weekend Update

I really need to post daily. Too much is happening each day.

Saturday: Had a Wedding/Reception to do. They had a cinderella theme, and they built a castle around the stage and had a balloon carriage around the cake. The cake had a Castle on it, with a dragon on the side. It was just lovely. You know…if I ever get married again, I’m going to have too many ideas for what would be cool to do. The couple were awesome. It was a small but fun group of people to play for. I really enjoyed myself.

Sunday: Started with an early morning wakeup call that my neighbor who gave us our origional bunny had one of her bunnies just give birth. She was worried because three of them were still born and she had killed another by steping on it. As I’ve dealt with babies she asked my opinion. I barely had a clue. But I told her to get those babies in a nest of Shavings and that would at least protect them for a bit. By the end of church is was discovered that the mom was trying to kill the rest of them. She had bitton the ear and paw off of one of the babies, which later died of shock I’m assuming. That left one baby left. We removed the baby and got some stuff from the pet store to try and feed the baby. But it was ify the whole time because it hasn’t eaten , we assumed, in all the time it had been born. We got the baby to eat and eventually it went to sleep. Unfortunately that poor baby died in it’s sleep.

It was a mess. My friends family is in tears because six babies have died. Two of which were by the mom. That one that was squished, turned out to have had it’s face chewed off. Isn’t nature fun! Turns out momma bunny hadn’t eaten in nearly a week, nor had bowel movements. It seems to me that momma knew she couldn’t keep them alive and was taking care of it. They are taking momma to the vet, but it’s a good bet she won’t live long either, especially if she’s not having bowel movements.

I finished off Sunday having several phone calls from friends. Some confirming dates…others just saying hello.
That leads us to…Monday morning.

I’m supposed to have lunch with the guy I was just complaining about in the last post. We had a long talk friday evening and came to the conclusion that we both had misunderstood each other and as I had stood him up, even though it was by accident, I at least owe him a lunch. I agreed and we were suppose to meet today.

*chuckles* Here comes the fun part.

I leave to go to lunch, missing his missive to me that he’s completely swamped and can’t make it. I get there and get myself a carmel apple cider and sit in to wait for him to show. I patiently wait an hour. He had told me earlier this morning that he would be a little late, so I was assuming that he was swamped at work as well. As I get to leave, having waited the whole hour, one of the girls behind the counter, who had been watching me the whole time, finally beckons me over and asks me my name. I tell her and she says, “I’m sorry, I just didn’t realize you were waiting for someone. But we have a message that he’s swamped and wouldn’t be able to make it.”

I look at this girl and thank her for the message, and as I’m walking away I think to myself, “You didn’t realize I was the girl for that message? I was the only single female in the entire store for an HOUR, and you didn’t realize I MIGHT be waiting for someone?” No offense, but if I had been her, I would have at least asked if my name was the same as whom the message was for. Maybe it’s just me, but if I have a message for someone who’s expecting to meet someone, and I see a person of the same gender sitting alone for any reason, I’m going to ask if the message might be for them.

However, I did get to enjoy a carmel apple cider and read for an hour. Pleasures both.
