The Point of a Blog
The other day I recieved a comment from Elaine. You can read it for yourself on the previous entry. However, I wanted to respond to one section that she wrote.
“I have sat here reading about a snow storm that none of us will soon forget and about your impending divorce. It occurred to me that I was invading your privacy…”
As I sat there reading this comment, it struck me that the whole point of a blog was to tell people what is going on in our lives. Gossiping in its best or worse form, perhaps. In my case, I like sharing that part of me that I can’t share with anyone. I don’t have a bunch of best friends who I can confide in. And I’m insecure enough to want approval, or at least acknowledgement that I’m not totally weird. Do I tell everything? Not even. Do I tell good portions of it…yes I do. Do I care if you read it? Would I put it in a public place if I did?
The point of this blog is to share part of me with all you weirdo’s out there and show that we are not all that weird. I love it when I get comments..no matter how silly, small or grand. The blogs I love best are ones that talk about regular life. That talk about regular people.
Now…I need to write a big entry for all the crazy stuff that has been happening…and there’s a mouthful to tell.
