Moving

Well, we’ve reached the point of no return. Taxes are back in and it’s time to actually file this divorce and move into an apartment.

I have found an apartment. It was literally handed to me. I have friends who manage a older but well maintained complex and they had a two bedroom come up. She talked to her boss and they agreed to give it to me. My application literally was just to decide the size of my deposit. I’ll be paying a double deposit, but the rent is going to be more then reasonable and in a weird twist of irony…the apartment is strangely similar to the apartment we had before we moved into the house.

I took the kids to see it today and they got to pick out which room they get. I’m going to be sleeping in the living room on the hide-a-bed. My daughter gets the bigger room because my dressor and a few personal things will be in her room. We’ll need the space…and my son loved the smaller room anyway. The bathroom is rather large and there’s quite a bit of counterspace. It has a frost free fridge/freezer and you have NO IDEA how happy that makes me. I’m flipping tired of fighting frost.

They are giving me the keys a bit early and I have permission to start moving things early even though I can’t pay for the apartment until the 15th.

How nice is that?

I know.

Greyduck has paid his rent for the place he’s sharing with Cyberwolfe and so he’ll be moving out this month as well. I went and saw the lawyer…this divorce is going to cost us a bit….but I called around…the only way I could get it cheaper is to either do it myself…which I don’t have the time or energy to do, or to go through legal aid…and I’m not on welfare. So..1500 bucks for a divorce….good thing I’m allowed to make payments. I just hope this goes smoothly. If there is no contesting the divorce we may be able to finalize things very quickly.

point of no return, but certainly a point where you can launch many new things from… Hope it all goes well for you - from the bottom of my heart.
