Poetry from a sixth grader

Okay, my son had a poetry section in his language arts class. They had to contruct a book that showed different types of poems. Two of which had to be written by the student. I was so proud of him I’m going to brag about my child and put them up here.

“Ode to Blue”

Blue is a mistaken color.
When we think,
we think blue is gloomy.

When we think of blue,
we do not think
about clear blue skies.

Blue is not the only color.
There is a yellow sun
and some white clouds in the sky.

Blue, being not the only color,
involves white caps
on the waves.

Blue is also
part of the rainbow.

So let us not make
and inferior blue.

“8″

Write about an age?
Okay, I pick eight.

Why, you ask?
I was in third grade.

How is that special?
It is between second and fourth grade.

What happened?
I had a short temper.

What does that mean?
I got in trouble

How did it happen?
I got angry and striked.

Does this happen now?
My, aren’t you nosy?
