Thoughts and discussions

Yesturday, while Greyduck visited the kids, I met up with Brook for a religious discussion. We talked for three hours before I had to be home so Greyduck could get home.

It was an interesting time. We discussed our various backgrounds and how religion had impacted it. Some good, some not so good. And just like my one date in January, I was with someone who knew enough about psychology that through the course of our discussion, helped me make a few realizations. Hopefully, I didn’t bore him to death. *chuckles*

He took me to two interesting places. First we had dinner at this great little bbq place over off of Division St. called Clay’s. THis is a great bbq place, he warned me that the sause was hot, and it did catch me by surprise. Then afterwards we went to this little cafe that served good desserts. It’s an interesting little place, who’s name I can’t remember, but it has a very alternative feel to it. There’s a live performer, this time it was a guitarist who wasn’t bad. He played good pieces. The service is relaxed but fun.

I ended my day talking to my friend Silent Dances. Three days in a row we’ve ended up talking until 1 or 2 in the morning. Of course we don’t meet up until like ten at night. He’s an interesting person to talk to.

I missed DM something terrible last night. I couldn’t go to sleep until about 4am. I just kept going over everything Brook and I had discussed and then stuff I had discussed with SD and that wrapped itself up with me thinking about DM and where we are. DM has been in touch with me twice since his letter to me. He seems to be doing okay. He’s changing his lifestyle, which is not an easy thing to do when your life is wrapped around a particular activity. I miss him but I won’t try to keep someone around me who needs to be elsewhere in their life. If I’ve learned anything in the last three years, is that you can’t hold people to you. Not if you want them to be the best that they can be. Even if it hurts to lose their contact in your life.
