busy busy busy
OH my have we been busy the last five days. And I’ve been left a zombie in the process.
Thursday we had E’s play performance. She’s been involved in a special drama class for kids in the TAG program. They did the mini play from A Midsummer’s Nights Dream. First, we get told the day before that the performance was taking place. I’d been trying for several weeks to get her to tell me when but nooooo, she had to tell us the day before, “oh, btw…” *rolls eyes*
It was pretty good for a bunch of third to fifth graders. They were basically told that the characters were a bunch of bad actors and they were to ham it up. It was very funny. The two deaths were the most melodramatic and hilariously bad fake deaths I’ve seen in a long time. The kids did a great job. There were also two other classes of drama kids. The regular 1st to 3rd group and the 4th and 5th grade group. The younger kids did jungle book which was cute and the older group did The Adams Family. The Adams Family was the funniest of the three plays however. I have to hand it to them, they had us rolling with their dry and straight delivery and never broke character. Not easy to do when your an adult, that these kids handled the audience laughin was really awesome.
Friday saw us taking the kids to a Beavers baseball game. We had alot of fun, although my back was killing me in those cheap seats. Then I had one hour to get to my Dj event afterwards. It was a senior all night grad party. I didn’t get home until 5:30 am. I then had to be up by 10am so that I could prepare for the wedding I was doing later that evening. It was a candy wedding. It was a really cool idea. The kids had stayed over at Greyducks place as there were lots of food stuff to be had. The only drawback was that I had to go pick them up after my event which was about midnight, by this point, I’m sore, hurt and on ultimate zombie mode. I’m so tired that whatever song I heard playing I would feel that song’s emotion. So I’d cry at the sad songs, get mad at the hard driven ones…etc. etc.
I finally get the kids to bed at 12:30 and go to lay down only to find myself awake. It took two more hours to go to sleep. Then sunday I had church and choir and fell sleep for three hours in the evening. My daughter wakes me up at 9:30 so I can tuck her in to bed and that wakes me up enough to keep me up for the rest of the night. Thanks to SD for keeping me company on the phone. I slept for a few hours monday morning when it became apparent my daycare kid wasn’t coming over and kids had gone to school.
That evening I took the kids to see Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban. My review will be my next post. I’ll post it when I’m no longer hot about what I consider screwups, stupid screwups that should have never been allowed. On it’s own, though, it’s a fine piece of film. I’ll explain more in my next post.
