Are your beliefs logical?

A friend of mine introduced me to this fun site. On there is a survey that tests the logic of your beliefs. Now this is a test of your logic, not of whether God is real or not. Are your personal beliefs, whatever they may be, logically consistant. I personally took four hits while taking this. As you read the rules you’ll learn what that means. READ CAREFULLY each question. All my hits came from thinking they were asking one thing when they were asking something else. One of my hits came from being too nice in the answer, which of course logically contradicted an earlier answer. If you take a hit, they will discuss what logic tripped you up. It’s really good and I enjoyed it alot. So go and test your logic.

I took two direct hits and bit no bullets. Basically I got nailed on the Nessie/God “lack of proof means it doesn’t exist” bit, and on the “impossible things” gotcha. *shrug* I’m willing to eat those two “mistakes,” as at least they’re relatively honest ones.

I admire the hairsplitting they give in their FAQ about the Nessie thing… clearly it catches a lot of people, so at least I’m in good company. As for the “do anything, do the impossible” thing, I think the original questions are a bit disingenuous: “Any creature worthy of being called God can do anything, right?” Sure. “Can God make 1+1=16?” Um, no. Rearranging reality is one thing, changing simple facts is something else entirely. How is one to assume that “anything” includes “make gibberish out of basic mathematics”?

    Logic. Whee! =)

I also got caught on the nessie thing, And as for the do anything questions, I noticed they ask two different questions at the beginning, One was does he have the power to do anything and does he have the freedom to do anything. Since I believe that glory is just another word for responsiblity, and responsiblities come with rules, While God CAN do anything, the nature of his responsiblities is such that he doesn’t just get to do whatever whim takes him at the time. I believe God lives by more rules then anything we’re asked to live by here on earth because that’s the nature of responsiblity, and if God has all glory, ie. responsiblity, then he has all rules too. *chuckles* For some reason that idea really pisses people off. *wink*
