I LOVED Unbreakable. But The Village was trying too hard to offer a big payoff ending and, well, it didn't offer it. It gave us two (or maybe three) twists -- one fairly good, one ridiculous (the third expected) -- smack dab in the middle of the movie.

Anyway, I didn't like it.

Sorry to disagree, though. I'm glad you loved it.

I did think the acting was great.

I hated the sappy porch scene, though. Why? Oh why?

The sappy porch scene went toward character motivation. She had to have a reason to want to walk through that forest. I wouldn't mind getting told what she was told though. But then I'm a romantic.

Oh, I can't wait to see this movie! And I love Sigourney Weaver. I really liked Signs, and Geoffrey complained about the sappy scenes in that one, but they made sense to me.
