Small steps
Well, I’m happy with myself. I’ve managed to keep my kitchen relatively clean all week. I do dishes daily and sweep the floor. Now some of you may be asking yourself why this is such a big deal…well, I’m terrible at house work. I know how to clean, I just hate to do it with a passion. But while my kids were gone, I got used to not having a dirty kitchen all the time. So, my plan is to (knock on wood) get and keep the kitchen clean..when that becomes habit…then add another room, and so on and so forth. The kids have their chores to do, so we’ll be working on this together. But so far…I’ve gone a whole week. Yeah, me.

I certainly don’t think that’s “no big deal” - my kitchen currently looks like the aftermath of feeding the Mongol hordes, and it’s the room I hate cleaning most so it often looks like that. I finally got on top of keeping my living room & computer room tidy consistently, after getting tired of looking at the clutter & papers & boxes of misc stuff that I kept tripping over. There was a while there (okay, probably all of last year & the first half of this year) that my whole house was a disaster, but I’ve found the happier I am, the easier it is to keep on top of this stuff. Major kudos for you on your accomplishment, and don’t let anyone tell you it’s not a big one!

agreed. housework is often linked to how your feeling. The happier you are, the more you feel like taking care of those things around you.
