Thankfulness for Women

In our last general conference, President Hinckley talked about the passing of his dear wife and how we should view the women around us. While he was primarily addressing the men of the church, I think that the advice is as important to remember whether your a man or woman.

My favorite quote was when President Hinckley spoke of his dearly departed wife: Before I married her, she had been the girl of my dreams, to use the words of a song then popular. She was my dear companion for more than two-thirds of a century, my equal before the Lord, really my superior. And now in my old age, she has again become the girl of my dreams.

I think that just may be one of the most romantic things a man can say about the love of his life.

Here’s the rest of the talk. Take time to read it. It’ll give you much to think about, as it did for me.

That is romantic, and also, heartbreaking. To me anyway.
