Okay, so we finally got the divorce papers all filled out and such and got them back from the paralegal who prepared them. I discovered that if your marriage is uncontested, that it’s MUCH simplier and vastly cheaper going through a paralegal. And they know all the ropes as well.

I discovered that we still needed to put the kids SS# on them and went to get the cards only to find out that I have no idea where they are. I keep them in the same place with the birth certificates and they were not there , nor were the birth certificates. I just about flipped. Fortunately, all I needed to get replacement cards was their photo id, which we had because they fly. So I spent thursday getting their numbers.

Friday, Greyduck and I went down to the courthouse to file those papers. There we found out when the parenting class is that we have to take before the Judge will sign our divorce papers. I’m a tad miffed about this class though. I know why they have it, but it’s bloody expensive AND it’s just going to rehash everything we’ve already done. If we’re lucky, we’ll get into a class quickly and then can be done. Because of class cost, we have to wait until the 1st to register for the class.

I find it ironic that we are getting this divorce finished just as our 13 anniversary is coming up. Next month will mark 13 years from the time we said “I Do”.
