Life is like a Soap Opera

I recieved an interesting comment the other day from a new reader, and it tickled me so much, I just had to write a reply to it. It seems my new reader is confused on who got me pregnant and who I’m divorcing. I don’t want to offend my new reader, but this comment made me laugh because I didn’t realize just how confusing and crazy the last two years of my life must look to those of you who are recent readers and haven’t been keeping up for the last two years as I’ve chronicled my struggles. And since I’m now clocking seven months of gestation…I need all the laughter I can get. *wink*

So, here’s an update for those of you who share this readers confusion at the soap opera that is my life. *chuckles*

Okay…long and short of it. Two years ago, after 11 years of marriage my husband and I agreed to divorce. We have taken a slow track to making the divorce final, moving in slow measured steps. Mostly for monetary reasons. We moved into seperate residences a year ago this month, Greyduck to his apartment and the 2 kids and I to ours. In July, I met BG on my birthday and we hit it off. However, a date a month later went where it shouldn’t and I got pregnant. So now, I’m dealing with a pregnancy, finishing a divorce which is slated to be final April 26th at the latest, and deciding just how much of a relationship I will have with the new father of this third child. I’m going to be taking over the DJ franchise that I have worked with for the last four years and will finally get on my feet financially.

Any Questions? *chuckles*

For those of you who are now up to speed on the craziness that is my life. I’m offically 7 months pregnant now. This baby sits very deep and very low. My hips have spread 5 inches and I only hope and pray they go back down. I don’t mind being curvy, as I am curvy anyway, but geez louise…FIVE INCHES?!! However, due to the lowness of this baby, I get lots of discomfort in my hips and in my lower abdomen. lets just say that this baby likes playing punching bag with my organs. I’m surprised I haven’t peed my pants yet.

E is still struggling in school. I got a call from her teacher about how she’s behind in school work. So we’ve had to take steps to help her become responsible again. She is enjoying the Mentor she recieved through Portland Impact. And I’m glad to see her excited about it. Her teacher says that on Wednesdays (when she gets a visit), you can tell E is happy because she is starting to take part in class discussions.

A is doing fine. He’s involved in several school activities that will have him doing several things over the next two months. His spirits are good and he’s come home dirty on occasion, which tells me he’s rough housing with his friends. It’s nice to see evidence of A being an active boy instead of taking after his hermit parents. *heh*

Today, I’m babysitting my friends kids again. I love them dearly, but they are too rowdy for my little apartment. It’s a gorgeous day today, so I will probably take them outside to play.

I say, if life’s gonna be a soap opera, why can’t it be a Spanish soap opera? It makes it easier when everyone’s gorgeous… :-)

    Claro que si.

Several years ago I got rid of cable TV because I realized I was starting to recognize an actress as she went from one telenovela to another…

LOL, I’m so glad I don’t have cable.

My youngest had a mentor from Portland Impact for 3 years, and now that the young lady has gone off to college, they keep in touch via email & visits whenever her former mentor is in town. I highly recommend that program!

Anything that helps Erica’s self-esteem and ability to cope is a good thing.
