Here we go….

Well, we are starting a new week, and I need to come up with something witty to say here…nope.

My weekend was pretty good, I had saturday off. November is one of the slow months for a mobile Dj, so I got to enjoy weekend time with my family. Alex is involved with a lego physics class on saturdays that he just loves. His teacher is really cool, and really lets the kids have that hands on learning in a way that they don’t have to worry about breaking anything, if it does break, they just snap it back on. Alex is really stimulated by this class and since we are looking at middle schools for him, their science classes are something we look at. We have a couple of middle schools that lean more to the science aspect. One is a TAG oriented school, with the attitude to match and the other is more nature science based. Neither thrill me very much, but Alex likes it. I’d rather send him to a school that is a bit more well-rounded.

Sunday was church, which went well. I really enjoy my scripture study class. We’re in the last part of Isaiah and since Isaiah loved to write in double meanings, it makes for some fun (heavy sarcasm) reading. But my teacher is good at bringing the symbolism to a level we can understand.

We don’t have paid positions in our wards (congregations),so everyone fills in when asked to. One of my current responsibilities is a choir for Christmas Sunday, which is just the closest sunday to christmas. It’s really neat, although I am nervous, my experience has all been with the kids and music, I did do a children’s choir, for our stake area. It went really well, and so I guess they thought I could handle it. My ward hasn’t had a choir in several years so we are pulling hair to get enough ppl. When you get out of the habit of singing in a choir it does take time to get back into the swing of things. But I have about 15 ppl getting involved, about 3 or so to a section, and the weird part is that getting sopranos is my biggest problem, my male parts filled in first. That’s not how it usually works. We have to practice enough music for about 35 minutes, which is not alot really, but for ppl who haven’t sung in a choir in a long time, but they are getting it. I just hope I do well, it’s my job to help them do well, if I’m a bad conductor, it’ll show in their performance.

At least you write about your life. I tend to write about stuff that doesn’t happen, or stuff I made up in my silly head.

I really, really ought to be using my site as more of a journal and less of a “blog.” Blah.

You’re doing great, hon’. Keep it up!
