Not what I needed

Yesturday, I let my brother use my van to move his bed to his new place. An hour later I get a phone call from him letting me know that my van has stopped running and won’t start. And he can’t tell why.

He gets it towed back to my place and my friend who is a mechanic comes by to take a look at it. He discovers that the cylinder block is cracked. Which basically means my van is toast. The cost of repairing it is worth half of the value of my van at this point. I really didn’t need to be stranded without a vehicle right now.

My symptathies!!! My transmission exploded on my minivan in Jan, and the repair cost was going to be the blue book value of the van, so it’s been sitting ever since. If you know anyone who’s willing to pull the engine & put it in your van, you’re welcome to it (it has nearly-new water pump & the whole timing system also). I’m just going to have it towed to a junkyard at some point.
