E’s reflections
E came home from camp yesturday. She spent a week near bend. During the week we got one phone call saying that she was refusing to get out of bed and take part in anything. She had missed breakfast because of it. Turns out she had had a severe attack of homesickness. When she came home at the end of camp, she ran into my arms for a hug. She also talked about how much she had missed everyone, including Tadpole. It’s been cute. Where before she acted like tadpole was a major problem, and one to ignore, she has been talking to him and cooing with him. And this morning when he fussed a bit while I was in the bathroom, she went over and played with him. First time she has willingly done anything for Tadpole, usually I have to tell her to amuse him when I can’t get to him right away.
Maybe, just maybe, progress has been made.
