A Sweet Shower

Good Morning dear readers, if I have any left. *chuckles*

This weekend was pretty good. We have tadpole inching himself across the floor. In almost complete control of his body. He can control how he rolls over and IF he rolls over. And he now is pulling himself across the floor after things he wants. He gets up on his hands and knees, and then falls forward. I figure we’re almost at the point when he’ll decide, “heck with falling, lets move our legs.”

We got family pictures taken with the two sets of dads and kids. So now my kids will have a picture of them and their dads. I”m very happy about that.

I also took E to see Harry Potter this weekend. I will say that I’m disappointed to see that Chris Columbus and John Williams had nothing to do with this latest instalment of the HP series. But I will say that the new crew did an excellent job. And even though there was not the familiar Harry Theme music, the new music director did an excellent job in writing music that fit so well that you didn’t mind if you even noticed. Someone finally got a clue about movie lengths. YES, we are willing to sit through a longer movie to see all the good story elements show up. Unlike three, this movie had the advantage of having a longer running time and I like that the screen writer and director really strived to keep as much of the story as possible. Unlike three which willy nilly tossed out stuff and put in new stuff that hampered story telling time. There were some scenes that were longer then they needed to be, for example the dragon fight, the story gave that scene much more stragedy then the movie does. However, overall, I liked this fourth movie. I was very unhappy with three and while the kids are obviously NOT 14, I still loved having them there.

Now, for the humor of the movie night. While we were sitting there waiting for the movie to start, E tries to open her bag of skittles. You know those huge bags they sell there, anyway it rips open and candy goes flying into the air to shower the poeple sitting in front of us. They freeze in surprise and then as they realize what they were just showered with, one of them quips, “Taste the Rainbow”. Everybody starts laughing.

Hey! Here! Here! (*waves frantically, nay, spasmodically*)

Er, I mean, hi, and I’m reading. ;-)

I’m glad you liked “Goblet of Fire.” Man, that flick sprints, and that gives it so much energy.

Patrick Doyle did the music this time — Williams didn’t have the time to score the fourth film — and I like him and what he did with the music. (He’s good with waltzes, for one thing!) I love that moment early on when we see the mangy old boot/port-key, and it’s shot from that dramatic low angle while the music flourishes.

And the movie’s a heck of an emotional ride; I teared up near the end. And I’m so glad they showed Harry recovering from the fight with Voldemort; after all that, he can smile again.
