Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. For those of you to whom this is just another christmas, I hope the easter bunny was kind to you and brought you lots of chocolate.

For those of you to whom Easter means so much more, I just want to bear my testimony that I know Jesus is our Savior and lives. I’m so thankful that he had the courage to follow through with the atonement so that we could all have the chance to return home to Heavenly Father. We are so precious, every one of us, that this world and this mortal experience was created for us. So that we could increase ourselves not only in wisdom and knowledge but by gaining a physical body to add to our spirit body.

We cannot begin to understand the pain and suffering that Jesus endured. And for many they don’t understand why it was necessary. I do understand why it was, and I’m grateful that it did happen. I am so grateful for Heavenly Parents and a Big Brother who love us. I’m thankful for being part of an eternal family. I hope one day to seal my children to me eternally and also have an eternal companion to share that joy with.

I’m grateful for the scriptures that we have that teach us about God’s plans for our eternal happiness. That Joseph Smith had the courage to follow God’s instructions in bringing the Book of Mormon to publication. I’m thankful that it enhances, supports and explains so much that is only hinted at in the Bible. I’m thankful that we have the Bible and Book of Mormon which give us such wonderful accounts of Christ’s love and desires for us. Of His example in how we should treat and love each other. I’m reminded on a daily basis that each of us are known and loved. Even when we do not open ourselves up to that love, we are still cared about.

As I ponder this Easter and its purpose in remembering the death and atonement of Christ and why it was so necessary, I feel a resolve to live better by my covenants. I have given into to fear and not been as valient as I know I can be. Its not easy to overcome fears, but its so worth it. And with God’s help, I know it can be done.
